Salad Extravaganza is a family owned business that needed to rebrand their fast casual, clean eating, restaurant. They wanted a logo which better represented the “happy, adventurous, and active” atmosphere of their store.
To convey the energetic and healthy tone of Salad Extravaganza I choose to combine a clean and versatile logo with an energetic color palette. Emphasis was put on the products that the restaurant provides, featuring photos of them within the designs themselves. The colors were chosen to achieve the desired atmosphere.
The biggest seller at Salad Extravaganza is their salad bar which features over 70 items. As this is a large draw for the company I created a series of illustrations to pair with the designs as needed. These illustrations are hand drawn vegetables which mimic the happy and active tone of the rest of the branding.
The Graphic Reminder is a new product developed and created by myself. This series of posters was created to address a need for a new type of wall art.
For this series I designed and illustrated aesthetically pleasing pieces of art which not only enhance a living space by being displayed on a wall but also enhance the daily life of the owner. Each piece is designed to serve some helpful purpose in each area of a home.
CLIENT: Oakland University Campus Recreation
This poster and the accompanying social media pieces were developed to advertise the opening of the new Recreation and Athletic Outdoor center. I chose to gear the campaign towards the relevent, University age, demographic by creating a series of "vintage" style pieces to advertise this new location.
Client: Oakland University's Archaeology in Israel
Oakland University conducts an exciting archaeological excavation in Israel during June and July each summer. The program includes field training, excavations, cultural tours, and immersion in Israeli culture.
This logo and team identity was created for the 2014 Oakland University Archaeological dig team. Working closely with a member of the team we identified their need for a unifying design which the team could wear and use while traveling throughout Israel. I developed the "Oakland University Digs Israel" slogan based on the demographic and style of the team and blended it with the the Jerusalem skyline.
Mock Client: Belle Isle Conservancy
Belle Isle is an island park in on the Detroit river. It was originally the largest city owned park in the United States.
The goal of this project was to thoroughly identify and research a target demographic and create a design campaign which would aid in bringing the chosen demographic to a location.
My Belle Isle series is designed with twelve to eighteen year olds in mind. I created a series of collectable posters combining the well known icons of Belle Isle with themes which current teen demographics respond to.
Mock Client: Pretzel Slims
Pretzel Slims are a whole foods pretzel brand which boasts a healthier pretzel. I created a logo which embodies the ideals of their band and also appeals to the demographic that Pretzel Slims is interested in attracting.
In addition to a general logo I chose a color palette to demonstrate the longevity of this logo. As Pretzel Slims develops additional products and flavors the logo can change with it while still maintaining it's established brand.
Client: Drop Dead Gorgeous
Drop Dead Gorgeous is a Metro Detroit based travel hair and makeup team. I communicated with this team to bring the vision of their brand to life in a versatile logo which they could utilize on all social media as well as in print.
Client: Oakland University Campus Recreation
Oakland University has a wide variety of intramural sports programs. The departmental heads behind these programs were looking for a way to show the students and faculty on campus that the Recreation center is not just a place for serious gym goers but also a place to go and relax and unwind.
Working with the department heads I helped develop and design the "Play" Campaign. These images are designed to inspire campus wellness amoung the students and staff.
Client: Oakland University Campus Recreation
Oakland's on campus recreation facilities have many different area's that specialize in a variety of health based area's. Each area acts independently under one brand of the Campus Rec. I identified a need for a unified brand which would build an identity for the Rec center so that each area is recognizable by the staff and student body. This brand would also provide a framework for each area to build their designs off of.
These pieces were the foundation of that brand. I created relevant icons for each area and sucessfullly merged them with the existing "This Is" Campus Rec logo.
Mock Client: Wired Magazine
Written articles are now featured both in print as well as on screen. The goal of this exercise was to create an intriguing but versatile illustration which can be utilized in both formats. Not only does the illustration formally fulfill those requirements but I utilized historical context, as well as parody, to represent the tone and information in the Wired Magazine article titled "Fantastically Wrong: The Scientist Who Thought That Birds Migrate to the Moon" written by Matt Simon.
